As god of the planet, Baric considers nature his muse and does not question the wisdom of its ways. He does, however, freely challenge the ways of his siblings—deities of water, air and fire—when he feels their actions might upset the planet. For along with monitoring the land, he also ensures all stays in balance and is not above using the harshest forms of tough love to achieve it.
So when a female incarnation of nature appears to thank him for his servitude, not only is he thrilled, but he also feels deserving of this privilege. But with her emergence comes strange demands about expanding the flora and the plant life that comes with it seems…different. Soon his siblings are complaining about how this expansion is affecting their domains and accusing him of blindly letting nature run its course.
Have his siblings grown so tired of his meddling that they refuse to see the beauty of the new greenery? Or has he been so trusting of nature’s ways that he’s allowed the harmony he once pursued to devolve into chaos?
This book is a novella based on characters in the Immortal Roots world.
